When I started Pharma 2.0 in 2008, there were not many people talking about the impact of social media in healthcare. At the time, I was working in a non-digital environment but eagerly following the rise of social media and its influence on patient power and physician transparency as well the angst it was causing the pharmaceutical industry. Examining the environment was my way of staying connected to the many changes occurring.
Fast forward a few years. Today there many excellent blogs and news sites covering all aspects of technology's impact on healthcare. I have a hard time keeping up with my many favorites as well as the constant Twitter stream. Rather than feel guilty that my own blog posts have become fewer and fewer, I have decided to take a break.
That doesn't mean I won't be writing and thinking about topics that I feel are important. Having recently joined Intouch Solutions, a top-tier healthcare marketing agency that is a digital, social and mobile powerhouse - not to mention home to #hcmktg #socpharm royalty Wendy Blackburn - I will be an active contributor to Intouch Soul blog and features. Here is a piece I wrote in April: Thinking about Creating a New Medical App? Check with Doctors First.
